Skills are developed through work
Our founder Pekka Tokola’s career in plumbing has already reached its sixth decade. He has learned from all kinds of projects and situations in the world.
The struggle to survive the recession of the 90s and other difficult economic situations are still in the memories. Work has sometimes had to be done under inhuman pressure and with limited resources. Pekka’s determination has carried him through the tough times.
From experience to new innovations
The younger members of the family business have taken over the appreciation of work. Productivity must be pursued as part of everyday work, even if it sometimes feels like it’s going well. In the future, we have to be even better. We have learned a lot from Pekka’s experience and have gained an understanding of the issues that affect the efficiency of our industry. We have decided to use these, together with the possibilities offered by new technology, to make plumbing an industrial and much more efficient activity.
Big investments for the future
Under Pekka’s leadership, Balanus decided a few years ago to take a big leap forward in productivity. The risk taken by a small company could have proved too big, but the determined approach has once again proved to be the right one. With the production management system developed by Balanus Oy, we are already achieving such results that we are surprised ourselves. In our projects, we have carried out up to 90% of all pipe installation at our prefabrication plant in Mäntsälä and only 10% on the customer’s premises. The site has become an address where we only go to install the prefabricated products.
