Construction and materials of cooling pipes
The system is always selected according to the application. Typically, the cooling piping circulates, for example:
- Water or water-glycol mixture (most common)
- Ammonia or R134a (for special applications)
Pipe materials are selected according to the pressure and temperature conditions of the system
- Copper: excellent thermal conductivity and easy installation
- (Stainless) steel: a durable and pressure-resistant solution for large cooling systems
- Plastics (PEX, PE-HD): a lightweight and corrosion-free choice for low pressure applications
